At the left side of the picture, the cross-section of the liver (1) is to be seen with the open lumen of the gall bladder (3). At front the section of the stomach and the pylorus (4) are visible. In front of the body of the first lumbar vertebra, find in the midline the abdominal aorta (9). At right observe the initial segment of the descending colon (5), behind it the section of the spleen (6) and lateral to it the narrow cleft of the costodiaphragmatic recess (2). At both sides of the vertebral column study the section of the kidneys (7) whose adipose capsule (8) is particularly well visible at left.
