Notice the following structures on the cut surface: second metacarpal bone (1), proximal phalanx (2), middle phalanx (3) and the distal phalanx (4). The tendons of the Extensor digitorum (5) on the dorsal aspect, and the tendon of the Flexor digitorum superficialis (6) below the phalanges, together with the tendon of the Flexor digitorum profundus (7) on the palmar aspect, can be very well seen. Of the muscles, notice the Lumbricals (8), the Adductor pollicis (9), the Flexor pollicis brevis (11) and the Abductor pollicis brevis (12). Among the muscles the tendon of the Flexor pollicis longus also shows itself (10). Of the carpal bones, observe the Trapezoid (13).
