The region of the "anatomic snuffbox"
The region of the "anatomic snuffbox". At top, notice the radial artery (1), the cephalic vein (2), the superficial branch of the radial nerve (10) and the strong extensor retinaculum (3). Distal to the retinaculum the following features can be observed: tendon of the Abductor pollicis longus (4), tendon of the Extensor pollicis brevis (5), further the tendon of the Extensor pollicis longus (6). The "anatomic snuffbox" (foveola radialis) in the depth of which lies the radial artery (1), is formed by the latter two tendons. Of the tendons, the Extensor carpi radialis longus (9) and the Extensor indicis (8) are labelled. Down below, the first dorsal Interosseus is to be seen (7).
