The picture shows the outer opening of the inguinal canal and its surroundings. Notice the inguinal ligament (1) and on its medial part the medial crus (2). Examine the outer opening of the canal, the superficial inguinal ring (3) and the spermatic cord passing through the canal (4). At right of the picture the prepared dorsal artery and veins of the penis (6) are shown together with the suspensory ligament of the penis (5). The situation of the femoral nerve and that of the femoral artery and vein (7) deserves attention at the femoral curve.
